The Turbulent Dynamics of Tokamak Plasmas (TDoTP) programme held its first Advanced Graduate School (AGS) on Friday 3 September 2021, aimed at PhD students and postdoctoral research assistants.
The AGS consisted of three tutorials on fast ions, pedestal physics and ELM-free reactor alternatives designed to give early career researchers a comprehensive grounding in the fundamentals of plasma turbulence that would enhance their understanding of the subsequent EU-US Transport Task Force Meeting and contribute to their ongoing personal development.
Our esteemed speakers were Dr Michael Fitzgerald (Culham Centre for Fusion Energy), Professor Howard Wilson (University of York) and Professor Eleonora Viezzer (University of Seville).
Details of further Advanced Graduate Schools in the area of plasma turbulence will be announced in the coming months.
